Prominent businessman, grassroots mobiliser and the Director City Boy Movement Abia State Chapter, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, popularly known as Don Lulu, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections.
The declaration, made in Umuahia, follows what he described as extensive consultations with key stakeholders, party leaders, and supporters, signaling growing momentum behind his bid to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
In a statement announcing his ambition, Igbokwe said his decision was driven by a call to service and the need for more responsive and result-oriented representation.
“I have listened to the voices of our people and answered the call to serve at a higher level. I am committed to amplifying our voices, attracting meaningful federal presence, and delivering tangible progress across our communities,” he stated.
The aspirant, widely known for his philanthropic activities and entrepreneurial success, emphasized that his candidacy is anchored on service, accountability, and measurable development.
He outlined key priorities of his proposed representation to include job creation, youth empowerment, support for small businesses, improved federal infrastructure, and enhanced access to quality education and healthcare across Ikwuano and Umuahia.
“Our constituency is rich in talent and potential. What we need is strong and effective representation to unlock it. I am ready to work with our people to build a future that reflects our shared aspirations,” he added.
Igbokwe called on party faithful, stakeholders, and residents of the constituency to rally behind what he described as a people-centered vision for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
Describing his ambition as more than a political campaign, he said it represents a movement aimed at creating opportunities and lasting progress for the people.
