Court Orders Forfeiture Of Sambo Dasuki Son’s N90m Abuja Property To FG

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered a temporary forfeiture of a N90 million worth of property linked to Abubakar Dasuki, son of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, to the Federal Government.

Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, gave the order after counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Olanrewaju Adeola, moved an ex-parte motion to the effect.

Justice Nwite, thereafter, directed the EFCC to give a 14-day notice in a national daily and on its website for the interested person(s) to show cause why the property should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government and adjourned the matter until July 14 for hearing.

ABN TV reports that the property, a seven-bedroom detached duplex with a basement and two servant rooms, is located at House No. كيفية لعب لعبة بينجو D1064 at the Brains and Hammers Estate, Apo, Abuja. لعبة فلوس حقيقية

Earlier, while moving the motion, Adeola informed that the ex-parte marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/589/2022 and dated April 26 was filed on April 29.

He said the ex-parte originating summon motion was brought pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and the inherent powers of the court.

According to the four grounds given by the EFCC why the reliefs should be granted, the commission said: “The property as contained in the schedule in respect of which the reliefs are sought is a subject matter of investigation and is reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity.

“The person under investigation and in whose possession the property was found had agreed to forfeit it to the Federal Government of Nigeria.”

In the affidavit deposed to by Chidi Nweke, a superintendent of the EFCC, the anti-graft agency said sometime in November 2015, it received an intelligence report from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) alleging payments of huge sums of money to individuals and companies by the past NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki.

The anti-graft agency alleged that the money was paid from the accounts of the ONSA between 2012 to 2015 purportedly for a contract awarded to the beneficiaries in which there were no records of any contract.
It averred that its Special Investigation Unit was directed to conduct an Inquiry into the intelligence report with a view to establishing the veracity of the report or otherwise.

It said an investigation revealed that amongst other monies paid to individual accounts and companies’ accounts from the bank account of the ONSA, the sum of N90 million was paid to Brains and Hammers Ltd Fidelity Bank account Number 4010167275.

The commission said the letters of investigation activities were written to the suspect, Fidelity Bank, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and Brains and Hammers Ltd (Real Estate Developer), and responses were received.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has bowed to pressure from Nigerians to extend the deadline for voter registration, ABN TV has gathered.

The ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise was initially slated to end at the end of June, 2022

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Electoral Matters, Hon. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, disclosed this while briefing fellow lawmakers on the committee’s efforts to ensure implementation of a House resolution reached last week.

“The Committee held a meeting with INEC yesterday (Tuesday) and they agreed to extend the CVR, all our resolutions were approved,” she told members of the House at plenary on Wednesday.

The House of Representatives had last Wednesday urged INEC to extend the deadline for the continuous voter registration by an extra 60 days from June 30, 2022, to enable more Nigerians to register.

The House also called on the Commission to deploy additional staff and voter registration machines across the country to meet the objective.

The chairman, House Committee on media and publicity, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, through a motion, had noted that the ongoing CVR by INEC was scheduled to end on June 30 ahead of the 2023 general elections.

This development is coming a few days after a court granted an order barring the commission from stopping voter registration.

Real Madrid’s €180m For Mbappe Didn’t Move PSG – Al-Khelaifi

Mbappe Reveals Reason Why He Wants To Quit France National Team

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has opened up on why he turned down Real Madrid’s mouth-watering €180m for Kylian Mbappe.

The 23-year-old France international had been widely expected to leave the Ligue 1 champions for Real at the end of the season upon the expiry of his existing deal on June 30.
But he opted to sign a new three-year contract with the Paris club.

Al-Khelaifi made the claim speaking with Marca.
He said, “I have great respect for Real Madrid as a club, they’re a great club, but Kylian has never decided to renew for the money, that’s the first thing. Madrid’s offer was better than ours. He is our player and he had other clubs in England as well as Madrid, but he chose PSG and we didn’t talk to him or his family about money until the last moment. Kylian was above all interested in the project, in football and sport.
“He is Parisian, he is French, and he wanted to stay here to represent his city and his country, his club, and it is not fair what has been said about him. For them, money is not the most important thing, they want to win and they want a sporting project.

“I don’t know what Madrid says, whether it was days or months ago. I know 18 months ago that Mbappe wanted to stay. I heard that Madrid said he wanted to play for Madrid, but it wasn’t true. We are talking now about Madrid’s latest offer, but in the summer they made an offer of 170 and 180 million [euros]. That means that Madrid’s offer, plus his salary, was already better than ours, as it is now.

“I turned down 180 [million euros] and they told me I was crazy, people I trusted, because he could leave for free, but I did it because I was sure Kylian was going to stay because I know him and his family well, I know what he wants.

“Kylian is very serious, professional, and he wants to play and win, he doesn’t care about money. I understand that Madrid are disappointed, but it’s not fair to say that about Mbappe.”

Mane: Why I Decided To Join Bayern Munich

0
Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane says his decision to join Bayern Munich is because he finds their plan more interesting.

The Liverpool forward has now completed a medical, bringing to an end a six-year stint at Anfield.

But with just 12 months left on his current contract, the 30-year-old made it clear he was looking to leave.

Bayern have finally reached an agreement on a deal which will see them pay an initial £27.1million for the Senegalese talisman.

The fee could rise to £35.1m and although neither club have officially announced the transaction, he has been spotted in Bayern gear and completed his first interview with reporters in the country he will now ply his trade in.

“When my agent first told me about Bayern’s interest, I was immediately excited.

“I saw myself there right away. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and the team is always fighting for every title. So for me it was a very good idea and the right decision to come here.

“My agent told me that there were enquiries from other clubs. But I got the feeling right away when Bayern presented their plan to me. I found myself in Bayern’s plan more than anyone else,” Mane said.
