Tinubu Is What Igbos Call "Ijele", Big Masquerades Don't Stay Long In Dancing Arena - Ikedi Ohakim

Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of Imo State has described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress as a big masquerade of Nigerian politics.

He referred to an adage about a big masquerade not staying too long in a dancing arena because it doesn’t want to lose its aura.

He further emphasized that the former governor of Lagos state came to Imo State accompanied by prominent figures including the party’s national chairman and the vice presidential candidate. According to Ohakim, the presence of these prominent men in Imo is an attestation that Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a big masquerade who has won the war even before the battle began.

ABN TV reports that this update was given on Thursday by Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB.

UPDATE on #MNK (Mazi Nnamdi Kanu) outstanding cases in which I’m directly involved:

“UN Opinion has been escalated to other tribunals.

“The Kenyan case is set for Feb 2023 (sad),” Ejimakor wrote on his known Twitter handle.

Recall that the High Court had fixed Friday November 18 for hearing of the suit which also has the Director-General (DG) of National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, as a defendant.

Kanu, through Ejimakor, had filed a writ of summons marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1702/222.

Naira Redesign: Governors On Our Watchlist Have Increased – Says EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said the number of governors on its watchlist has increased.

The Chairman of the commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, disclosed this while briefing news men at the State House after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

Bawa, who declined to mention the number of governors currently under the EFCC watch, also refused to reveal the identities of the governors.

He noted that the commission is pleased with the redesign of the naira note, saying the policy would help the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN control the monies in the system and enable more money for people to borrow.

The EFCC boss added that the redesigning of the naira will cause the value of the dollar currently at 890 to crash to 200 naira.

He urged Nigerians to embrace the new policy, while also encouraging citizens to take advantage of the whistle-blower policy.

Recall that the EFCC had earlier revealed that three serving state governors are under monitoring over moves to launder cash through table payment of salaries to workers

The EFCC boss said two of them were from the North, while the third one was from the southern part of the country.

He noted that intelligence at the agency’s disposal revealed that the three governors had concluded plans to inject the money into the system through table payment of their state workers’ salaries.

2023: I'm Not A Party To Campaign Of Attacks, Back Stabbing But Issue Based — Dan Okeke
Chief Dan Okeke

Chief Dan Okeke the All Progressives Congress, (APC) candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in Abia state ahead of the 2023 general elections has said he will not engage in a campaign of name-calling, verbal attacks, and abuses.

He said he will rather devote his time on issues and what he will do differently if elected a member of the House of Representatives next year.

He made this known in an ongoing tour in the federal constituency where he is calling on other office seekers to shun over-heating the polity with inflammatory comments.

According to Okeke, part of the bane of the nation’s political engineering are the unnecessary attacks and backstabbing of political opponents while critical issues of development are relegated to the background.

His Special Adviser for Media and Publicity, Oti Maduabuchi Orieji said the recent consultation tour of the entire constituency further cemented his belief that Arochukwu and Ohafia are truly blessed with both human and natural resources that will be further harnessed for the betterment of every Constituent, adding that the tour gave him first-hand information and experience about the various needs of the people.

The statement read in part, “He was emphatic that having thrown his hat into the race for the most coveted seat in the constituency, he has no reason to look back but to remain firmly focussed, get elected by the electorates, and deliver the needed dividends of Democracy to the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency. In his opinion, no segment of human society should ever be relegated to the background or neglected at all levels and that accounted for why he interacted with the aged, the young, the traditional institutions, political leaders, opinion molders, age grades, community elders, physically challenged, Religious bodies and organized unions among many others.

“The APC House of Representatives candidate said that his approach to such urgent matters of need is to adopt a “bottom-top ” approach, not a “top-bottom” approach to governance, adding that he has a clear understanding that every segment of society and political units have peculiar needs and what they expect from government. While others may be in need of roads, others may need health centers and schools among other projects.

“Dr. Okeke observed that things had changed and real hope and assurances must be given back to the people who are very eager for development.

“On the issue of his very soaring popularity and impressively overwhelming support base, Chief Daniel Okeke noted that ever since he found expression in public service, he has always tried all he could to make life better for everyone, irrespective of their personal backgrounds and political cleavages. Adding that the hobby of making people happy also makes him a happier person.

“He assured all and sundry that if he could do all he has been able to do for the people with his personal resources, he would do even more with Government influence.

“High Chief Daniel Okeke Ph.D called on all the good people of Arochukwu and Ohafia to be wise and very discerning in their political decisions and to always look out for the candidate with the needed capacity, public acceptability, probity in public life and the readiness to confront the challenges of our current development.

“Mezie Abia as he is popularly called, promised to change the common narratives around and about Arochukwu/Ohafia politics, adding that the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu has taken time to put the entire Abia North on a concrete Infrastructural developmental pedestal which, in the fullness of time, will multiply the economic fortunes of our Constituency as the products, resources, and potentials from our constituency will key into the emerging national and global markets.

“The APC House Of representatives candidate thanked God for his resurging energies and stamina which he noted, were a plus to his budding political aspirations. He finally called on the good People of Arochukwu and Ohafia to be patient and look out for many more positive turn of events that will be surprising to all under his watch as Representative at the National Assembly.”

Presidential Campaign: Wike Promises To Give Peter Obi Logistics Support

0

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Thursday pledged to provide “logistics support” for the campaigns of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Wike also said Obi, a former Anambra State governor, has all the characteristic to lead Nigeria.

The Rivers governor made this known to the LP presidential candidate in Port Harcourt, the state capital, at the venue of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover inauguration.

“Each time you want to campaign in the state, let me know, all the logistics support, we will give to you,” Wike told Obi.

Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed were in the state capital to commission the 9th flyover by the present administration. They were excitedly received by a large crowd of their supporters known as ‘Obidients’.

For months, Wike and four other governors in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have demanded the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as PDP national chairman as a precondition to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

While Wike and his allies have not been seen to campaign for Atiku, it is not clear whether they will support Obi, or Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the contest for Aso Rock’s top job which has been described by analysts and keen observers as a three-horse race.

Wike said though he knew the humiliation Obi suffered before he left the PDP for the Labour Party, he won’t leave the party but chase out the “armed robbers”.

“I know the humiliation you suffered. Nobody will hear what you pass through and stay in the party but I will not leave. I will stay and fight.

“I won’t leave this house. I will never allow armed robbers to take over this house. I will stay and chase away armed robbers.

“So, thank God because if you have not left, you would not have realised your ambition to be able to save Nigeria,” Wike told Obi.

Obi left the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in October 2014 and joined the PDP. He was the running mate to PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 general elections.

He, however, dumped the PDP early 2022 and joined the LP where he clinched the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.
