A soldier identified as Corporal Abayomi Edun has hit and killed a senior officer, Brigadier General James in NAFRC barracks, Lagos State.
The soldier alleged to be under the influence of alcohol was said to have hit the Brigadier General inside the barracks while driving recklessly.
The deceased according report was walking home when corporal Edun knocked him down, leaving him unconscious.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“The general was trekking to his apartment inside the Barracks when he was hit and knocked down by the drunk soldier,” one of the sources was quoted as saying.
Following the tragic incident, l corporal Ebun was arrested and is being detained by NAFRC provost marshals investigating the matter.
