Chief Whip of the Senate and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu has congratulated Kenya’s president-elect, William Ruto on the affirmation of his victory at the polls by the Supreme Court on Monday.
Sen. Kalu hailed Ruto, an incumbent deputy president for working hard even as he prepares to take up his new responsibilities of high office.
Sen. Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate having known the incoming president for the past 20 years, therefore, expressed confidence that he will deliver in his new office.
The congratulatory message read in part, “Please accept my warm congratulations on your victory at the Supreme Court as the next president of Kenya. You have worked so hard and I extend my best wishes for your success as you prepare to take up the responsibilities and challenges of your high office.
“Having known you for over 20 years, I am confident in your capacity as you embark upon your new responsibilities.
“I look forward to working with you not only to develop closer relations in our continent but also to concert our efforts in the cause of peace and the brotherhood of all Africans.
“Most importantly, May the Holy Spirit guide you in all of your decisions as we together fulfill our mission of always doing what is best for our countries.
“Accept, Mr President and Dear Brother, the assurances of my highest esteem.”
