A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Chukwu Agu, has lauded the efforts of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu in mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 reelection bid across the South East region.
Speaking with journalists, Mr. Agu urged skeptics who doubt the level of political alignment in the South East to closely observe the significant strides made through Kalu’s mobilization initiatives, particularly under the platform of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP).
“Those doubting that the South East is not aligning themselves politically should see the mobilization work being done by the Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu,” Agu stated.
He emphasized that Kalu’s proactive engagement and grassroots outreach have been instrumental in galvanizing support for President Tinubu within the region, which has historically been viewed as politically distant from the ruling party at the center.
“Benjamin Kalu has done a very good job in the South East, mobilizing people for President Tinubu’s 2027 reelection through the Renewed Hope Partners. His efforts are yielding visible results, bringing many stakeholders and communities on board,” Agu added.
The PDP chieftain’s commendation is seen as a strong endorsement of Kalu’s bridge-building and inclusive political strategy, which continues to reshape perceptions and foster broader cooperation between the South East and the Federal Government.
Observers say Kalu’s leadership within the Renewed Hope Partners is contributing to a growing wave of political realignment in the region, as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
