A day in the life of the Quality Specialist:

People and know-how:

  • Promote quality awareness across the company. Contribute to the competence development of quality professionals across the organization.

System design:

  • Define and update the specific quality procedures, instructions and tools which are directly related to their area of concern.

Quality mastership:

    • Supports the Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect, including root cause analysis after incidents (or near misses) and DMAIC.

Quality auditing and verification:

Qualifications and Requirements:

Academic Experience:

  • B.Sc./HND preferably food science related.

Operational Experience:

Demonstrated competence in their specific field to support business requirements:

  • Team member in a factory: Quality, Production Support, Application Group, or team member in the quality department of the Market
  • Sound analytical capabilities and experience with Vendor auditing and approval will be an added advantage

Business Experience:

Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programs:

Nestlé Nigeria is currently looking to fill the position of a Cost Analyst who will provide support and expertise in cost/costing analysis.  Undertake research, interpret the results of analysis, and provide alternatives / recommendations for further consideration.

A day in the life of the Cost Analyst:

Cash Flow & Continuous Improvement

  • Seek and support cost improvement opportunities, participate on project teams to ensure validation, review and proposed savings are accurately tracked.  Involved in daily activities associated with NCE in the factory environment.

Analysis

    • Review daily, weekly, and monthly variances; analyze and investigate background.  Ensure data accuracy with regular checks; follow up with stakeholders to ensure correction of errors.  Discuss issues with operations department as necessary.
    • Review and analyse actual Costs of Production (identify key drivers, provide analysis and explanation on results, provide insight on trends).

Reporting and Analytics 

  • Review and validate factory reporting of weekly actuals, including provision of this data for management meetings to ensure transparency of information.  Review and validate period-end and year-end close reports for the factory ensuring Nestlé financial policies, Accounting Standards, and Costing Standards are followed.

Collaboration with CoC

  • Collaborate with the Costing Centre of Competence on operational activities such as Period End Close (PEC); Master Data; factory health checks and give inputs for the revision of Service Level Agreement according to new reality.

Strategic Evaluations

  • Perform financial simulations, product costing & estimates.

Business Planning

  • Coordinate and provide departmental inputs for factory cost budgeting, Active participation in Standard Cost Budget, Revision, and Replacement Cost calculations as required.

Internal Controls

  • Follow costing guidelines and associated standard operating procedures when generating financial documents and performing daily activities.
  • Coordinate and Ensure Stock Taking are periodically taking place & Write-Offs are duly authorized to avoid misappropriation of goods and company assets.

Knowledge Transfer

  • Prepare and publish financial KPI data on a regular basis; perform analysis of KPI data and transfer this knowledge of the key figures to the relevant stakeholders in order to promote understanding.

Compliance

  • Perform routine audit activities within the factory to ensure compliance on critical areas e.g.) stock taking. Appropriately escalate business risks.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Academic Experience:

  • B.Sc./HND Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional Qualification such as ACA, ACCA will be an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in Accounting or Costing, ideally within a factory or supply chain

Ensure production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental targets (strive towards Manufacturing Excellence).

A day in the life of the Manufacturing Manager :

  • Drive Manufacturing Excellence implementing NCE (Foundations and Advanced Practices) to achieve the objectives of the One T&P Roadmap for factories.
  • Ensure that the Health & Safety Culture and conditions for a Safe Working Environment are constantly part of the manufacturing objectives. Embed Environmental Sustainability in the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that finished products are consistently manufactured according to standards of quality (compliance), on time, and meeting consumer expectations (strive towards Manufacturing Excellence).
  • Manage Production effectively through operational reviews and use Standard Routines (SDCA) to ensure sustainable results and drive continuous improvement (PDCA) to deliver breakthrough results.
  • Ensure the timely launch of new or renovated products to the Markets as per agreement with the business.
  • Ensure development of department team and staff (incl. temporary people) – through engaging and empowering people, performance management, career development, succession planning and coaching.
  • Deputize for Production Manager when he is not available.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • B.Sc. in Engineering or related roles
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills to effectively lead a group of people.
  • Experience in Technical environments and or manufacturing supporting functions.
  • Must be able to provide a well-judged and accurate evaluation of multiple and complex data without losing sight of the broader information.
  • Successful in leading change
  • Exposure to the implementation of continuous improvement techniques.
