The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Obi Aguocha, has congratulated renowned investigative journalist and Director of ABN TV & Radio, Chief Ifeanyi Okali, on his conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Okwuru Oha” by the Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ohafia Ancient Kingdom.

In a statement, Aguocha described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of Okali’s outstanding contributions to journalism, community development, and public advocacy.
The lawmaker revealed that his admiration for Okali’s work dates back to a notable investigative effort in Umuahia, where the journalist followed the case involving families that lost seven members.
“I started following Ifeanyi Okali as PG Ohuhu, when he dedicated himself to the case of families that lost seven persons in Umuahia some years ago. He made himself available, pursued the matter without fear or favour, and carried out thorough investigations that yielded meaningful results,” Aguocha stated.
He commended Okali’s courage, objectivity, and commitment to justice, noting that such qualities define true journalism and public service.
Aguocha added that the title “Okwuru Oha,” meaning ‘one who speaks for the people,’ perfectly reflects Okali’s role as a voice for the voiceless and a champion of truth.
“Chief Ifeanyi Okali has distinguished himself as a strong voice for the people. His dedication to truth, accountability, and community development makes this honour not only deserved but timely,” he said.
The federal lawmaker further highlighted Okali’s contributions to grassroots development, including his support for education, infrastructure, and community security, which have earned him widespread respect.
He expressed confidence that the chieftaincy honour would inspire Okali to continue his impactful work and urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to excellence and service.
Chief Ifeanyi Okali has continued to receive commendations from stakeholders across the state and beyond, with many describing his conferment as a true reflection of his integrity, resilience, and dedication to the people.
