Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has strongly condemned the attack on De Latinos Concept, a popular entertainment and hospitality establishment in Umuahia, which occurred on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The incident led to the destruction of property and injuries to innocent individuals.
Expressing shock over the development, the Governor has directed the Commissioner of Police to identify and apprehend those responsible for the violence, vowing that every perpetrator would be brought to justice. He emphasized that the state government would not tolerate such acts and that those involved would face full prosecution to deter future occurrences.
Following the attack, Governor Otti dispatched the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, to visit the scene and extend the government’s solidarity to the management and staff of De Latinos. Engr. Emetu, who was received by the CEO of De Latinos alongside the State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, assured the affected parties that the government remained committed to protecting businesses and investors in the state.
In his remarks, CP Danladi Isa described the incident as unfortunate and avoidable. He further disclosed that police officers linked to the attack had been arrested and were currently under interrogation.
Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering a safe and conducive environment for businesses in Abia State. He reassured residents and investors that his government would not allow unpatriotic elements to instill fear in the minds of innocent citizens or disrupt economic activities in the state.
