The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC has apologised to its customers following a power outage on Wednesday after electricity workers withdrew their services.

The company in a release signed by its Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh said the withdrawal of service and strike was suspended after the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, Ministers of Labour, and Power reached a decision.

“In view of the decision reached yesterday (Wednesday/evening at a meeting between the Union/striking electricity employees and the Ministers of Labour and Power, the industrial action has been suspended and restoration of supply commenced since 00.34hrs.

“Though this has been gradual, it is hoped that before noon today (Thursday) all EEDC outgoing feeders would have fully been restored.”

The company expressed regret for all inconveniences this power situation must have caused their customers, and also appreciates them for their patience and understanding.
