Councilor representing Ebem Oha in Ohafia local government area of Abia State, Hon. Clement Uduma Ibem has commenced the installation of solar power panels in Ebem community market in order to give it more illumination in fulfillment of his campaign promises to the market men and women.
He also said the project will help in beautifying the community especially as its sons and daughters from far and wide will be coming home this festive period.
He told ABN TV on Sunday that some weeks back when he drove pass the area at night, it did not look like a market, a development he said further necessitated the project.
Other clans to benefit from the project are Ngbaga, Ekelogo, Ihenta, Nde Onka, and Eziukwu. He said the project will further enhance the security of the people with the proper illumination it will provide.
He also enumerated other projects he has embarked upon, including the renovation of Obi Nkoro of Mgbagha building, securing employment for two indigenes of the community as SAs to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, attraction of employment through the school feeding programme for two women who help in cooking for Mgbagha and Ebem primary school pupils and more.
He also said he assisted in mobilizing support for the treatment of a gunshot victim who was hospitalized in FMC Umuahia sometime this year.
Hon. Ibem who is also the deputy leader of Ohafia legislative council expressed gratitude to the governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, his deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ochendo for their efforts in ensuring the development of Ebem Oha in particular and Ohafia in general with the facilitation of the projects.
He assured indigenes of the community coming home for Christmas and New Year celebrations that there is adequate security for everyone as the community union and vigilante group have put adequate measures in place to that effect.
