A 33-year-old Abia-born engineer, Moses Maduka Testimony, has achieved international academic distinction after graduating as the Best Graduating Student of South Ural National Research University in Russia with a perfect 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), ABN TV reports.

The remarkable feat earned the Ikwuano indigene the prestigious Red Diploma, the highest academic honour awarded within the Russian higher education system to students with outstanding academic records.

Mr. Maduka, who hails from Umundara Ahuwa Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, completed a Master’s degree in Mechatronics and Robotics, specializing in Mechatronics, at the renowned South Ural National Research University.

His latest accomplishment adds to an already impressive academic journey. Prior to his master’s programme, he graduated with a First Class Bachelor’s degree, recording a 4.5 GPA.

According to his official academic transcript, Mr. Testimony excelled in several advanced engineering and automation courses, including Supercomputer Modeling of Mechatronic Systems, SCADA Systems in Automated Production, and Hydraulic Elements in Mechatronics, earning excellent grades across most of his coursework.

His master’s thesis, titled “Development of a Robotic System for Emotion Recognition from the Face,” received commendation from the university’s State Examination Commission. The research focuses on the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence, highlighting his growing expertise in emerging technologies.

Reacting to the achievement, Mr. Maduka expressed gratitude to his family, mentors, and the people of Oboro for their unwavering support throughout his academic journey.

“I am deeply honoured to represent my community on this global stage. Achieving this 5.0 GPA and the Red Diploma at a National Research University was the result of discipline, focus and determination to excel,” he said.

He added that he hopes to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during his studies to address real-world challenges and contribute meaningfully to technological advancement, industrial development, and education in Nigeria.

In addition to his academic success, Mr. Maduka is reportedly eligible to apply for Russian citizenship under provisions available to outstanding international graduates of Russian National Research Universities, subject to meeting the applicable legal and administrative requirements.

His outstanding performance has been widely celebrated across Ikwuano and Abia State, where many have described him as an inspiration to young people and a shining example of academic excellence.
