Nigerians Are Tired Of Independence Day Broadcasts – Pastor Giwa
Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa

The Senior Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has stated that Nigerians are no longer interested in listening to Independence Day broadcast by the leaders.

According to Giwa, the broadcasts had always been filled with empty rhetorics with no action to better the lives of Nigerians.

The Pastor, who stated this during a sermon to the congregation in his church in Akure, Ondo State capital on Sunday, emphasised that the country lacked leaders committed to solving the many crisis facing it.

He maintained that come 2023, political oppressors in the country will be put to shame.

“Nigerians are no longer happy to listen to Independence day broadcast by their leaders because they repeat the same broadcast every year.

“Our country is richly endowed with God-given resources but it is unfortunate that we don’t have leaders who can serve the nation in truth.

“Our political leaders are interested in playing to the gallery. Nothing to write home about, no stable electricity, infrastructure, good roads, among others.

“We can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed due to banditry that pervades the country. We need total and genuine restructuring or we break up.

“Let me also repeat what God told me during my new year message to Nigeria; the political oppressors shall be disgraced and put to shame. This must surely come to pass. They cannot escape it. They cannot escape the wrath of God.”

Fix Nigeria When You Become President – Olu Falae Tells Tinubu
Bola Tinubu

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has said that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is the most qualified of all candidates jostling to be the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

Sani, an incumbent Senator representing Kaduna Central, said Tinubu fought and paid his dues for the enthronement of democracy in the country today while other presidential candidates were mere military apologists.

According to the Governorship hopeful, it is the turn of Tinubu to be Nigeria’s President, as he has all it takes to propel the country to greatness.

Sani spoke at the award ceremony of the Association of Lagos State Indigenes in Kaduna State, during the ‘Isokan Omo Eko Day’, in the state capital on Sunday.

He said, “You cannot compare Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu with other Presidential Candidates, because they were nowhere to be found when Asiwaju and people like us were fighting for the enthronement of the democracy we now enjoy today.

“I have known Asiwaju since 1992. We backed friends because we share the same convictions; the convictions for rule of law, the conviction for justice and freedom of Nigerians. We fought together for the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria.

“Nigerians should not forget that the reason we can gather here and associate freely is because of the sacrifices of some people. That is why I am calling on Nigerians to support Asiwaju Tinubu to be President of Nigeria. Of all those contesting, Tinubu is the most qualified.

“Most of the other Presidential Candidates were military apologists when Tinubu was fighting for democracy, they never supported rule of law, equality, and justice. Asiwaju did not only fight for democracy, but he also paid his dues, in fact, some of us were detained and persecuted.

“Today, we have the democracy we fought for, I believe it is the turn of Asiwaju to be President of our great nation because he has what it takes to move Nigeria to a greater height. None of the other candidates has his record of achievements and we believe he will perform excellently well.”

Earlier in his welcome address, acting Chairman, Association of Lagos State Indigenes, Sheriff Olutusin, said Tinubu built infrastructures, educated people, transformed waterways into cities and expanded the revenue of Lagos from N600 million to N50billion among others and he can replicate all that and more if given the chance to lead Nigeria.

Abia Central: Hope Dims For APC As INEC Shuns Atuma After Party Dropped Onuigbo In Unexplained Circumstances

The Federal High Court at Umuahia, Abia State, has scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday October 4, 2022, to declare the authentic All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Abia Central for the 2023 general elections.

Two aspirants, the serving member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Constituency, Sam Onuigbo, and Emeka Atuma, who represented the constituency years ago before Onuigbo, are both claiming to be the party’s duly nominated candidate.

While Onuigbo emerged the candidate from the party primary held on May 28 and 29, 2022, Atuma, who had earlier contested for the party’s gubernatorial ticket and lost to Dr. Ikechi Emenike and, thus, did not contest in the senatorial primary, was later named as the candidate.

Not accepting the seeming mischief, Onuigbo, in suit No FHC/UM/CS/113/2022, took the matter to the Federal High Court, urging it to declare him the duly nominated party candidate for Abia Central.

I Won't Stop Criticising Buhari - Ortom

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has said he will not stop criticising President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration until killings stop in the state.

This comes as Buhari asked Ortom to acknowledge his administration’s capital projects in his state.

The President on Thursday told Ortom that rather than cast only aspersions, he should speak about the good deeds of the present government, whenever he (Ortom) engages the media to criticise the APC-led administration.

According to the governor, he only criticises Buhari for not being able to end the killings in the state and Nigeria.

He said as long as the people of Benue are being killed by suspected Fulani herders and militias amid the federal government’s failure to stop it, “I will not stop criticising until the killings stop”.

“Why has the Buhari-led Federal Government not disarmed Fulani herdsmen who bear sophisticated weapons and kill innocent people but have continued to deny lawful state security agencies the right to acquire arms to protect lives and property?

A former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Sunday described the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as the most qualified candidate among all those vying for the top most political job in the country.

Gbenga Daniel was the campaign Director General of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of PDP in 2019 presidential election.

Daniel disclosed this at an empowerment programme put together by Gateway Front Foundation and Gateway Movement, held in Sagamu, the headquarters of Sagamu local government area of Ogun State.

Daniel, who is the Ogun East Senatorial candidate of APC in the forthcoming general elections, said he owes the successes recorded during his 8-year tenure as the governor of Ogun State to his relationship with Tinubu.

While Tinubu was the Lagos State governor between 1999 and 2007, Daniel on the other hand was at the helms of affairs in Ogun State from 2003 to 2011.

He said, “majority of the projects he executed during his 8-year tenure were influenced by Tinubu”.

Daniel said majority of the projects he executed during his tenure as the Ogun State’s helmsman were influenced by Tinubu and still standing the test of time in the Gateway State.

The empowerment programme witnessed distribution of an agricultural tractor worth about N10 million being given as star prize, alongside a Toyota Highlander SUV vehicle as first prize.

The ex-governor who recalled his relationship with the former Lagos State governor noted that all the current presidential candidates currently vying for the top political office in the country are “eminently qualified” but added that Tinubu is best among them.

“When we came onboard in 2003, we said Ogun State was a land we called a “sleeping giant” and we said our mission was to wake up that sleeping giant”.

“Let me confess that a lot of those things that I came to implement in the State was because of my relationship with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“You know what we did, it is not only in Ogun East that we worked, we worked in Ogun West and you saw them, also, we worked in Ogun Central, but there are certain things that God enabled us to commence in Ogun State, one of them is the international airport”.

“I agree that a lot people who are now trying to be president are very qualified, but Tinubu is our own”, Daniel said

Also speaking at the event, former Commissioner for Financial in Lagos State, Wale Edun, commended Daniel, attesting to his cordial relationship with Tinubu.

Edun noted that presenting Daniel as a Senatorial candidate at this time is a round peg in a round hole.
