The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), South-East Zone, has nominated Hon. Sam Onuigbo for its Distinguished Service Award at the 2025 South-East Zonal Management Summit scheduled to hold from August 7 to 8, 2025, at the Women’s Development Centre, Umuahia, Abia State.

In a formal letter dated July 23, 2025, and signed by the South-East Zonal Chairman, Prof. Jude E. Njoku (FNIM), and National Treasurer, Mrs. Clara Ijeoma Okere (FNIM), the Institute noted that the award is in recognition of Hon. Onuigbo’s outstanding contributions as a legislator and member of the North-East Development Commission.

The conferment of the award will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, shortly after the keynote address by Mr. Johnson Chukwu, MD/CEO of Cowry Assets Management Limited, Lagos. Chukwu will speak on the summit theme: “Navigating Nigeria’s Unstable Economic Environment to Achieve Sustainable Corporate and Household Economic Growth.”

Reacting to the nomination, Hon. Sam Onuigbo expressed appreciation to the Institute for the honour, describing it as a humbling recognition of his decades of service and dedication to nation-building.

“I have been a member of this prestigious institute for 43 years and was inducted a Fellow in 2012 after 30 years of active involvement.
