Former chairman of the World Igbo Congress and leader of APC in Ihechiowa, Prof. Kalu Kalu Diogu has applauded Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu for infrastructural development in the community, describing it as early Christmas gift.

ABN TV reports that he commended Sen. Kalu, Chief Whip of the Senate and senator representing Abia North for his tireless efforts to bring development projects and other dividends of democracy to Ihechiowa.

Prof. Diogu made this commendation in reaction to the senator’s several working visits to Ihechiowa during the first week of December 2020 to give the people a sense of belonging.

While commending the former Abia governor for what he called valued representation, Prof. Diogu in a statement signed by his Personal Assistant and the Community Liaison Officer, Ihechiowa roads projects, Hon Kalu A. Kalu lamented that the people of Ihechiowa have been neglected over the years by all governments from state to Federal.

He thanked Senator Kalu for coming to the community’s rescue and giving them hope again.

He said, “These projects that will positively impact the lives of the ordinary people in the community include;
“1. Ensuring and Supervising the return to the site, in full force, of the contractor on the 5km Umuchiakuma-Okpo Ihechiowa road. Work on the road is ongoing
“2. Commissioning of the 2km Obinto-Atan Ihechiowa road Work on this road is ongoing
“3. Receiving Chief Joe Ezearo and his large group followers who joined APC from APGA and PDP in Ikwun ward, Ihechiowa
“4. Revitalization of the abandoned Uburu, Ihechiowa power sub-station on hand with the Federal Minister of Power and other officials of the ministry”.

He added, “I thank His Excellency Senator Kalu for spending the first week of this December to work on these and other issues that will improve the lives of Ihechiowa people. I am sure that with Senator Kalu’s intervention, our people will have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. We could not have asked a better and caring Senator”.
