“Your Wealth Of Experience Remains Valuable” — Senator Kalu Celebrates IBB at 85
Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
In a goodwill message marking the milestone, Kalu described Babangida as a respected elder statesman whose years of service and experience have contributed to Nigeria’s national development.
The Abia North Senator noted that at 85, the former military president remains an important repository of Nigeria’s political and leadership history, stressing that his knowledge and experience could provide valuable lessons for younger generations of leaders.
“I warmly congratulate former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), on the occasion of his 85th birthday,” Kalu said.
“General Babangida is a respected elder statesman who has served Nigeria in different capacities and contributed to the growth and development of our country.
“At 85, his wealth of experience and knowledge of our nation’s history remain valuable, especially to the younger generation of leaders,” he added.
Kalu, who served as Governor of Abia State between 1999 and 2007, extended the felicitations on behalf of his family and constituents in Abia North Senatorial District.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Abia North Senatorial District, I wish him a happy birthday and many more years in good health, peace and happiness,” the senator stated.
General Babangida, who was Nigeria’s military president from 1985 to 1993, turned 85 on Monday, August 17, 2026.
