You Can Now Edit Sent Messages As WhatsApp Unveils New Feature

Senders will be able to change their messages within 15 minutes of hitting send once the capability is available internationally in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp stated in a blog post on Monday that the new tool can be accessed by long-pressing the message and selecting “edit” from the drop-down menu.

“You can now edit your sent messages if you make a mistake or simply change your mind,” the post says.

The change was announced on Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company.

Users of other social networking applications such as Telegram and Signal can already edit messages.

The new feature is the most recent announcement from the instant messaging platform.

WhatsApp introduced a service in April that allows users to instantly share their status updates to their Facebook stories.

It also added automatic security codes, which allow users to safeguard their accounts from hacking.
