A significant political endorsement has emerged in Abia State as former Senator has thrown his weight behind APC aspirant, Hon. Chukwudi Apugo, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement came during a strategic visit by Hon. Chukwudi Apugo to the elder statesman, in what observers have described as a key consultation aimed at consolidating support within the Ikwuano/Umuahia political bloc.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Adighije reflected on his long-standing political relationship with Apugo’s family, paying glowing tribute to the aspirant’s father for his foundational role in his political journey.
“Whatever I am politically today is courtesy of your father,” the former Senator stated, in a remark that highlighted deep-rooted political ties and mutual respect.
In a strong show of support, Adighije assured Apugo of his unwavering backing, pledging to stand by him “in all ramifications” as he pursues his ambition to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Also lending his voice, Chief Nze Esiaga commended Apugo’s leadership qualities and growing political profile, assuring him of the full support of Umuopara people.
