VIDEO: If You Don’t Trust Igbo With Presidency, IGP, COAS, Others Why Stop Them From Going? — Momodu

Senior journalist and the publisher Ovation Magazine, Chief Dele Momodu has said he will not subscribe to the notion that an Igbo man from South East Nigeria is not qualified to rule Nigeria as President, saying there is no sense in such.

Chief Dele Momodu

He decried how the Igbo are being discriminated against in Nigeria, saying it is the reason for the secessionist agitation going on in the South East region.

In a viral video, the businessman wondered why the Igbo have not been allowed their independent nation, Biafra since they cannot be trusted with office of Nigeria’s President, Inspector of Police, IGP, Chief of Army Staff, COAS and others.

While applauding the US President, Joe Biden for appointing Nigerians into his cabinet, Chief Momodu said this was possible because he saw their talents, wondering why an Igbo man cannot be the Inspector General of Police and other security positions.

“If you don’t want them, if you don’t trust them and they say they want to go, then why are you stopping them?

“These are people who contribute to world economy, not just Nigerian economy. There is no country I have been that I will not find an Igbo man, either at the peak of the academia, at the peak of business, at the peak of professions, they are everywhere.

“Medical doctors, surgeons, lawyers, bankers, they are everywhere and they come back to Nigeria and you are discriminating against them and you are saying they will not agitate for their own nation,” he said.

He extolled the contributions of the Igbo in Lagos major markets and the economy generally, saying even with the insecurity, the Igbo are all over the country doing great.
