IWD: Chief Amobi Ogah Congratulates Women, Seeks More Inclusiveness

As the world marks the International Women’s Day, a community leader and the CEO Pauli Mama Group, Chief Amobi Ogah has congratulated women globally for their giant strides in stabilizing the homes and making the society more peaceful.

He said Nigerian women have consistently demonstrated capacity in various fields of human endeavor both within and outside the country, urging for a more gender friendly environment that could help them realise their potentials.

In a felicitation message on Tuesday, the 2019 House of Representatives aspirant for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency Abia State expressed regret over the rejection of the gender Bills recently at National Assembly which seeks to enhance the access to political offices for women.

“I am deeply concerned about the welfare of women in our society. I am emotionally attached to the promotion and enhancement of their welfare. As someone who was single-handedly raised by a woman, I am aware of how much they contribute in stabilizing the homes.

“In appreciation of this, the empowerment scheme of Amobi Ogah Foundation has paid adequate attention to empowering women for self-reliance. Again, our outreach for widows has seen us reach out to thousands of widows with clothing materials and food palliatives to alleviate their challenges.

“That we have over sixty percent of women in our employees across our business interests is a deliberate effort to grant them access to economic opportunities to enhance their living and that of their dependents,” he said.

He, therefore, appealed to the National Assembly to reconsider the rejected gender bills to ensure enhanced participation of women in the political space.
