Ethel Ekpe, a veteran Nollywood actress, has passed away following her prolonged struggle with illness.

The actress, reportedly battling cancer, breathed her last on Wednesday, February 7, as announced in a Facebook post by Shaibu Husseini, the Director-General of the National Film and Video Censors Board.

“The actress, pastor, and star of Amaka Igwe’s ‘Forever’ and most recently ‘Sons of the Caliphate” reportedly died of cancer today in Lagos. She will be sorely missed.”

Ethel before her demise had played the role of ‘Segi’ in the defunct sitcom on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) by Ken Saro Wiwa titled ‘Basi and Company’.
