Unknown gunmen have invaded Igboeze South Local Government Area of Enugu state, killing the state APC youth leader, Hon. Lucky Okechukwu.
ABN TV reports that the murder of Hon. Okechukwu has led to an unrest in parts of the state.
Though the details of the incident is still sketchy, Hon. Okechukwu was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night in Unadu town.
On Sunday morning, a party leader in the state confirmed the incident to newsmen under the condition of anonymity since he was not authorised to speak for the party.
“Yes, it is correct. I am not sure of his exact name, but we learned that he was killed last night by unidentified shooters. The party will undoubtedly release a statement on the incident if it wishes to address it,” the source claimed.
DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state police command’s spokesperson, was yet to make a comment on the development.
