As the government strives to diversify the nation’s economy, the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah says the federal government has established six solid minerals cluster projects to boost the economy and conserve foreign exchange, ABN TV reports.

Ogah who spoke during an interview session in Calabar also revealed that the government has established the LED processing cluster project in the South East, which he said has enough of the mineral.

“With the handover of title documents to the five hectares of land in Cross River, the federal government will complete the artisanal and small-scale mining and processing cluster project in six months to take care of the South-South region.

“In Bauchi State, there is the Kaolin cluster project for the northeast region. In Kano State, we have the gold cluster project for the entire northwest while in the north-central, specifically in Kogi State, there is the coal cluster project. While in the west, there is the gemstone project,” he explained.
