As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) and Asiwaju Women Cooperative Society (AWCS) have launched Operation Feed the Less Privileged, a programme designed to cater for about 5,000 families in the FCT.
The two sister groups said the gesture was to cushion the effects of COVID-19, and also to give back to society.
AWCS is a support group affiliated to TSG –the leading group calling on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run for Nigeria’s presidency in 2023.
The President of AWSC, Mrs Toyin Badmus, who led other members to the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, on Sunday, said the choice of Abaji as starting point was deliberate to seek the royal father’s blessing in their activities, as well as to distribute food items to about 450 women in the council.
The Madaki of Abaji, Alhaji Ibrahim Agoi, who received them on behalf of the monarch, commended the groups’ gesture to start the scheme in Abaji.
