Former Nigerian international, Tijani Babangida says he’s optimistic the Super Eagles will make a good impact at the forthcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Recall that Nigeria has been pitted alongside Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.

However, the team will commence their campaign against Equatorial Guinea on January 14, 2024, at the Stade Olympique Alassane Quattara, Abidjan.

Reacting to the chances of the team at the tournament, Babangida in a chat with Completesports.com stated that the Super Eagles have the quality to qualify from Group A,

He also said that the team will make an appreciable at the 2023 AFCON,

“I am very confident about the team’s chances of qualifying from Group A even though I know no team is pushing over as far as football is concerned.

“But then, with the qualify of players at our disposal, I think we have what it takes to overcome these opponents.

“Nevertheless, I want to believe the team will make an appreciable impact at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.”

The Nations Cup which features 24 teams and runs from January 13 until February 11, will see the winners and runners-up in each of the six groups, plus the best four third-placed teams, reach the knockout phase.
