A group, SieDiHub says it has concluded arrangements to commence a one-year training and skills acquisition programme for youths in the country to drive innovation for inclusiveness, empowerment and social development.
The programme which commences Jan. 2023 is in collaboration with the Empower Next Generation and will provide a safe space for the young Nigerians to engage in skill empowerment activities related to their needs and interest.
Executive Director SieDiHub, Chinasa Imo who spoke at the training workshop on Thursday at the Vicar Hope Foundation Umuahia, Abia State hinted that the acquisition is focused towards promoting and improving the welfare of youth, children and women in low income communities in the country.
She said the organization is set up to inspire hope and contribute to the growth and development of the people.
Imo further said the programme which ends Dec. 2023 is to co-creatively support each participant with tools to map their path towards self identification, self growth.
Those targeted includes school dropouts within the ages of 18-24 years who are currently facing difficulties in educational advancement.
Speaking with ABN TV Kelechi Imo one of the facilitators said the programme is for young people and women who want to aquire some skills to avoid waiting for the white collar jobs to make them better persons in the society.
Those mentally sound can also participate in the training, the group said.
Chukwu Ijeoma, Uwaoma Chizaram and Samuel Winners some of the participants said is a very good privilege to be part of the training to acquire a skill that will be beneficial to them and make them more exposed in the absence of white collar jobs.
The community engagement Coordinator of SieDiHub Jonathan Ajuma said the programme is to train out-of-school youths who have no means of furthering their education.
The goal of the training is to co-creatively support each participant with tools to map their path towards self identification and self growth.
He said at the end of the training there will be certificates to confirm the completion of the programme to each of the participants.
Highlights are Focused Group Discussion to enable the facilitators to know suitable skills for participants.
