We Will Resolve Abia APC Crisis – Senator Orji Kalu

Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu has finally spoken since his brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu dumped the APC for the Action Peoples Party, APP.

He said top leaders of the APC including President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan persuaded Mascot to remain in the APC but he declined.

In a statement on Thursday, Sen. Kalu while expressing shock that Mascot joined the APP which was earlier in the week launched in Abia without informing him, he stated that he accepts this decision in good fate, wishing Mascot well in his political future.

He said, “I have received several calls from friends, associates, political stakeholders and leaders of thoughts seeking my opinion on the defection of my brother, Mascot, from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to Action Peoples Party, APP.

“Sincerely, the National Chairman, two Deputy National Chairmen of our great party including the Senate President persuaded him to remain with the APC but he declined.

“I was surprised to hear that he alongside other stakeholders launched the new party, Action Peoples Party, APP, yesterday, in Umuahia without informing me.

“Well, I don’t have any issue with my brother; he has the right to take decision on his political future, and, as a democrat, I acknowledges his right to determine his political affiliation and wishes him well.”

The former governor reiterated his loyalty to ruling APC even as he pledged to offer his people more effective representation and attract more democratic dividends.

“I remain the Chief Whip of the Senate and a committed member of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“I am even more determined to serve my people and facilitate more dividends of democracy to them.”
