In an attempt to locate and rescue Mr. Aondo Ver, the kidnapped director of the federal housing authority, agents of the IGP Special Intervention Squad (SIS) and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have launched an investigation.

Sources told Our correspondent that as news of his kidnap said to have occurred between the hours of 12.30 and 1 am on Thursday, filtered out, the Special Intervention Squad and a military detachment patroling Bwari and Kubwa general area communicated jointly and investigation had commenced.

A source said there were some forests located near Bwari, one in Niger State and another towards the Kaduna axis which security operatives were monitoring to see if the kidnappers were heading that way with the victim or not.

The bandits were said to have abducted the director in the wee hours from his home, which is located not too far from a military camp/post in an area of Bwari known as Pambara.

Sources said that after successfully breaking into the home of the director in the estate and bringing him out of his home, and realizing that their activity had attracted the attention of some neighbours, they started shooting sporadically in the air making residents scamper into hiding before whisking the victim away through a nearby bush.

Some residents said the location of the military camp was a bit far off from Pambara extension estate where the kidnap incident took place noting that before they could get to the camp, the bandits had escaped with the victim in the opposite direction.

The residents said incidents of bandits/Kidnappers attacks had been on the increase in the area and called on the FCT administration to deploy more mobile security personnel to conduct regular patrols in the area.

The estate is said to be home to several retired military personnel and civil servants while some serving uniformed personnel also live there.
