Benjamin Kalu Jr Hangs Out With Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Seeks More African Representation

Following Mr. Benjamin Kalu Jr’s meeting with the Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison, respondents have urged father of the young Nigerian and member representing Bende Federal Constituency Abia state, Hon. Benjamin Kalu to use the instrumentality of the legislature to push for enhanced relations between Nigeria and Australia that can enable both countries exchange ideas.

Recall that Benjamin Kalu Jr had in his meeting with the number citizen in Australia discussed leadership and politics in Africa with him and also sought for an increased representation of the Continent in the Australian Parliament.

Following the demand by the young Benjamin Kalu Jr, residents of Abia and FCT have appealed to the father who is also the official Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu to initiate a legislative process that will entrench a more beneficial bilateral relations between between Nigeria and Australia that will bring about a robust exchange of ideas to solve peculiar problems facing the country.

In an interview with the ABN TV, respondents who spoke at various times in Abuja and Umuahia, Abia State capital insisted that Benjamin Kalu Jr’s request again brings to fore on the need for Nigeria to leverage on her long existing relationship with Australian to attract a global attention to some of the challenges bedevelling her.

They say Australia is exemplary in various areas of national development, both in economy, security and robust political framework.

Reactions on Benjamin Kalu Jr’s meeting have been massively positive. Followers who commented on Hon. Benjamin Kalu’s photo of his son with the Australian Prime Minister noted that the young lad is already showing leadership traits with his capacity to maintain boldness in the presence of kings.

They said the young chap is following the footstep of his father, a vocal legislator whose voice resonates at most critical issues of national development at the floor of the House.

Others also encouraged him to continue to represent his ancestral home of Bende and Nigeria at the global stage.

When our correspondent sought the opinion of the 90-year-old grandfather of Ben Kalu Jr in his compound at Ezi Kalu Okaa in Agbamuzu village Bende, in Bende LGA of Abia State about what Benjamin is doing and how the son has started showing signs of leadership, he said “Hon. Benjamin Kalu is the great great grand son of the great Kalu Okaa, who in the colonial days was the Spokesperson and representative of the Bende Ancient Kingdom before the colonial masters.

“He represented to the colonial masters what the people of Bende wanted and what the colonial masters wanted was communicated to Bende through him . I am not surprised that Benjamin Kalu today is a leader and exhibiting those leadership traits of his the great Kalu Okaa. It is in his DNA to love his people like his great great grand father did and today see his son is becoming closer to leadership .

“It is not every day that you see an African young man admired by the president of a great country like Australia , I see greater than Benjamin senior in him and it is just a matter of time . So yes leadership runs in their DNA, don’t forget that the grand father maternal was the famous Eze Kalu Ezelu of the Bende Ovu kingdom, making his mother a Princess . If it was in England they will be called the true blue bloods . These children are fearless like their ancestors and they will do their people good any day “
