“While extending felicitations to your colleagues in the newly elected cabinet, let me also appreciate members of the union for conducting a peaceful election which culminated in the production of this new executive committee.

“Considering the role of media in the overall development of our society, the challenges and expectations of the masses, especially from NUJ, one would not but say that the task before you is daunting. However, given your pedigree and professional background, I believe you will deliver and take Abia NUJ to the next level.

“Having in the past partnered NUJ in organising many programmes, including the South East Media Summit, I once more committed to the task of exploring more avenues of cementing the already existing mutually beneficial relationship. Therefore, under your watch, I look forward to firming stronger ties of collaboration between Abia NUJ, Gregory University Uturu, and other organisations that I represent, in my avowed bid to enhance the practice of journalism while contributing to the overall development of our state.

“Continue to be assured of my prayers and sustained support as we all work towards adding value to the larger Abia society.”
