Abia State Police Command has confirmed the beheading of one Hon. Zachary Nmaduka, also known as Power Zack a 70-year-old stalwart of the Labour Party in his community, Ezieke Akpukpa Uturu in Isuikwuato local government area of the state.
The command’s PRO, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka in a statement on Thursday said Power Zack, a vigilante leader, was killed at a drinking joint in the community.
The incident she said happened on Wednesday at about 8:30pm.
“Mr. Nmaduka was violently attacked, shot, and beheaded by unidentified assailants while he was at a drinking joint in Amelechi Akpukpa Community.
“Upon receiving this distressing information, a joint team comprising police and army personnel was swiftly dispatched to the scene.
“Tragically, they recovered Mr. Nmaduka’s lifeless body.
“Photographic evidence was captured at the scene, and the deceased’s remains were promptly evacuated and deposited at Marist Mortuary Uturu”, she said.
According to her, investigations are currently ongoing.
