Passage Of Prof. Obiozor A Devastating National Loss — Ogah

Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah has mourned the death of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor, saying it is not only a big loss to the Igbo nation but the country at large.

The former Minister says Prof. Obiozor’s death is even more painful at this period of national history when the country is at cross-roads and needs his wealth of diplomatic expertise to navigate through litany of its challenges.

In a condolence message on Monday, Ogah noted that the invaluable contributions of the former Nigerian ambassador to the United States will remain indelible in the sands of time.

“Passage of the elder statesman and envoy is a big loss to Nigeria and the international community at large. One must not lose the remembrance of his robust roles in keeping Nigeria a united and progressive entity.

“His intellectual contributions to global discourse were outstanding and worthy of commendation. A strong advocate of a fair, ideal society and good governance, he will even be missed more taking cognizance of where we have found ourselves as a nation, a people in need of men of impeccable integrity and sound sense of judgement to overcome its challenges.

“We will take solace in his purposeful life and draw lessons from his sacrificial living in the overall interest of Igbo race and Nigeria in general,” he said.

Dr. Ogah also commiserated the the government and people of Imo State, praying God to give those he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.
