The South East electorate participated in the 2015 election for the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, who hails from the South-South region. Nonetheless, the All Progressives Congress prevailed, and Buhari’s administration continued to marginalize the South East until the conclusion of his second term in 2023.

In 2023, again, the south-east voted for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, who is from Anambra State. Some south-south leaders promoted the Labour Party, regardless of having the PDP vice presidential slot. Yet, they worked for the APC. The south-east is set to be marginalized by Tinubu.

The president is a Muslim, from the South West, and the vice president is a Muslim, and from the North East. The senate president is from the South-South, a region that produced the president of Nigeria a few years ago. The speaker of the federal House of Representatives is from the Northwest. The Secretary of the Federal Government is from the North-central. The South-East is not part of the Nigerian project.

The Senate presidency is not about OUK. Equity is the focus of the Senate presidency. OUK has been denied the Senate Presidency today. The same APC-led federal government refused because the entire South East did not vote for the APC. It is evident that the South-East will continue to play second fiddle in the Nigeria project due to ignorance and systematic manipulations.

The South East is lacking. When will the Southeast learn about Nigeria’s politics?
