In a major boost for education in Ohafia, renowned philanthropist and community leader, Dr. Okwun Ojah, has unveiled the second edition of his ₦6 million Education Scholarship Award, dedicated to supporting Law students of Ohafia origin.
The scholarship, launched through the Ojah Family Foundation, was announced as part of activities marking Dr. Ojah’s birthday this year. It aims to empower bright and financially challenged students pursuing careers in Law across recognized Nigerian universities.
According to the Foundation, this initiative reflects Dr. Ojah’s unwavering commitment to fostering educational excellence and youth empowerment in Ohafia.
“This initiative not only celebrates the life and legacy of our Founder but also advances our mission to promote equitable access to quality education,” the Ojah Family Foundation stated.
The Scholarship Award 2.0 is open to academically qualified Ohafia indigenes who meet the eligibility requirements and are studying Law between 100 to 500 level.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
1) Be an indigene of Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State.
2) Have secured admission into a recognized Nigerian university to study Law.
3) Be currently in 100 to 500 Level of their university program.
4) Present two academic references.
5) Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (for 200 Level and above) or 3.5 (for 100 Level students).

The application window opens on June 10th, 2025, and will close on August 10th, 2025.
