The remains of Chimaobi Anya Ojo, the 36-year-old Poland returnee who was tragically murdered in Abia State, will be laid to rest on February 14, 2025, at his family compound in Ndi Imaga, Elu Ohafia, Ohafia Local Government Area.
The burial, scheduled on Friday 14th February 2025, Valentine’s Day—a day known for love—adds a somber note to the tragic story of a man whose life was cut short just weeks after celebrating his daughter’s first birthday.
ABN TV had earlier reported that Chimaobi, who had returned to Nigeria in February 2024 to meet his newborn daughter and secure a home for his family, was killed on September 20, 2024, during the Ibeku New Yam Festival in Umuahia.
His case remains in court, with the key suspect, Ebochue Kingsley Uzoka, currently in remand after being arraigned before a Mobile Court in Umuahia on January 28, 2025. The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate P. N. Lekwa, adjourned the case to February 19, 2025, and ordered the transmission of the original case file to the Abia State Attorney General’s office for further legal action.
As his family and the Elu Ohafia community prepare to lay him to rest, the quest for justice continues, with many hoping that those responsible for his tragic death will be brought to book.
