May 29: Corrupt Governors, Other Politicians Planning To Flee Nigeria – EFCC Alerts

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned the public about a suspected attempt by some governors and other corrupt politicians to exit the nation before of the May 29 handover.

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson, issued a statement on Friday night raising the alarm.

The commission stated that it is presently working with international partners to ensure that the intentions are thwarted.

The commission vowed that all political players who engaged in corruption while in public office will face prosecution.

The statement reads partly, “Again, the Commission wishes to alert the public about plans by some of the alleged corrupt politically exposed persons to flee the country ahead of May 29.”

“The Commission is working in close collaboration with its international partners to frustrate these escape plans and bring those involved to justice.”
