Afrobeats sensation Reekado Banks has taken a step back from his earlier plans to get married this year, revealing a shift in perspective on settling down.
Just two months ago, the singer confidently stated his intention to marry before the end of the year. However, in a recent appearance on The Esther Show, which began trending on Thursday, he revealed that his views have since changed.
“In my last interview, which was two months ago, I was pretty sure about my stance. I said I would get married later in the year, but now I’m in a very different place. So, I can’t say anything definite about getting married now. Back then, I was sure, but now I’m not,” he admitted.
Reekado clarified that his change of heart has nothing to do with his music career but rather his personal development and emotional readiness.
“It has nothing to do with my music career. It’s about me and my emotional intelligence, which I’m still working on,” he said.
The artist, who rose to prominence after joining Mavin Records in 2014, has since established himself as a successful independent act in the Nigerian music scene.
