Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has sent seven names of commissioner-nominees to the state’s House of Assembly for confirmation.

They are Nurudeen Ashamu, son of former Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Fausat Sanni, sister of the chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola as well as Toyin Balogun, women coordinator of the Omi Titun 2.0 Campaign, Musibau Babatunde, one of the top economists in Nigeria; Akinola Ojo, his former finance commissioner; Daud Sangodoyin, his former works commissioner as well as Adeniyi Adeniyi, his former agriculture commissioners.

The list would be read on the floor of the House today, while their screening and confirmation would follow suit “as the governor is expected to swear them in on his return from his journey from the United States.”

The governor will send the names of his nominees for the secretary to the state government (SSG) position which is likely to be a woman and the remaining 10 commissioner-nominees to the Assembly.

The governor had received nominations from some APC leaders in the state who worked for his re-election.
