The Abia State chapter of the Labour Party has clarified its position regarding political developments in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, reaffirming that Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah remains the party’s recognized political representative for the constituency.

In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Iroegbu Emenike, the Labour Party said the clarification became necessary following recent political gatherings in Umunneochi Local Government Area, where campaign banners and mobilisation materials allegedly featured the image of Abia State Governor, Alex Chioma Otti, alongside candidates and political figures from other political parties.

The party stated that while it respects the constitutional rights of individuals and groups to freely associate and participate in lawful political activities, there was a need to provide proper guidance to party supporters and the public in order to avoid misinformation and wrong political interpretations.

According to the statement, Hon. Ogah remains a loyal and committed member of the Labour Party who has continued to distinguish himself through what the party described as effective representation and dedication to the ideals of the “New Abia” project championed by Governor Otti.
