The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umar, as the Amirul Hajj for 2027.
This was contained in a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH on Saturday.
According to the statement, the governor made the announcement at the Rano Emirate after witnessing the wedding and turbaning of the Emir’s first son, Muhammad Abubakar Isa, on Friday.
Yusuf said his administration chose the Emir to serve as Amirul Hajj because the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr Abdulkadir Ibrahim, led the state’s delegation during the previous Hajj.
“Next year’s Hajj 2027, the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, is going to be the Amirul Hajj,” the governor said.
The Emir, Amb. Muhammad Isa Umar, and members of the emirate expressed delight over the development and thanked the governor for the honor.
