The Abia State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lady Chino Cecilia Erondu, has commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for providing the leadership that has united the party and strengthened its growth across Abia State.
Erondu made the remarks while speaking with journalists during the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to Abia State, where she described Kalu as the undisputed leader of the APC in the state, noting that his inclusive leadership style has fostered unity and eliminated internal divisions.
According to her, the progress currently being recorded by the APC in Abia is a direct reflection of Kalu’s commitment to carrying every stakeholder along and ensuring that party members remain united.
She said the Deputy Speaker has consistently prioritized the welfare and advancement of party members, adding that his leadership has created an atmosphere of cooperation and collective purpose.
“The unity we enjoy today in APC is because of his leadership. If not for him, we would have had factions here and there in the party. Today, we are rejoicing because we have a united party, and APC is progressing because of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu,” Erondu stated.
The APC Women Leader also expressed appreciation to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for visiting Abia State, describing the visit as historic and successful.
She commended Senator Tinubu’s commitment to women’s empowerment, particularly her assurance that APC women interested in learning Akwete fabric weaving and other vocational skills would be allowed to acquire the necessary training.
Erondu further applauded the First Lady’s ₦2 billion intervention to expand Akwete fabric production in Abia State, describing the initiative as a significant boost to the local textile industry and a major step toward creating sustainable economic opportunities for women.
She urged APC women across the state to remain united and focused, advising them not to be distracted by comments or actions that could create division within the party.
Expressing optimism about the future of the APC in Abia, Erondu encouraged members to continue working together in the interest of the party, maintaining that unity, commitment and inclusive leadership would remain the foundation for greater electoral and organizational success.
