Suspected bandits have attacked farmers in Kaduna State’s Sabon Layi hamlet, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, murdering three residents.

Remember that a similar attack occurred in the neighborhood a few weeks earlier. Nine people were killed, and many more fled their houses.

However, a farmer, Mallam Nasir Yusuf, who said he narrowly avoided the current attack, stated three farmers were killed and others were injured by gunshots.

Usman Kasai, Chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), confirmed the attack, saying the victims were working on their farm when the bandits attacked.

Kasai identified the victims as Anas Sabonlayi, Abubakar Dankibiya, and Harisu Un-Guwar Lemu, all of whom lived in Sabon Layi, Kakangi ward.

As of the time of writing, neither the state administration nor the police had published an official statement about the occurrence.

DSP Mohammed Jalige, Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, did not react to his calls or a text message sent to him.
