The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has called on young people nationwide to have faith in themselves and never stop learning, emphasizing that they are not just tomorrow’s leaders but also actual change agents who are reshaping the world as the world observes International Youth Day.
Soludo, who is the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, said young people should never underestimate the difference they can make, emphasising that their ideas, energy and courage are needed to build the future society truly desires.
She stated this in a press statement issued on Wednesday as part of activities commemorating International Youth Day, marked globally by the United Nations on August 12.
She said, “Young people are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; they are the real changemakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, creators and problem-solvers shaping our world today.
“As we celebrate International Youth Day, let’s continue to create spaces where our young people can learn, build, lead and thrive. Every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and turn their dreams into meaningful impact. The world owes them that.
“To every young person in Anambra and beyond, believe in yourself, keep learning, stay healthy, and never underestimate the difference you can make.
“Your ideas, energy and courage are needed in building the future we all truly desire. Happy International Youth Day.”
She raised awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing young people around the world and celebrated their role as essential partners in achieving sustainable development.
International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations and observed annually on August 12. Its purpose is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding young people.
