The Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, stated that the voter list for the general elections in 2023 contains 93,469,008 people.

Yakubu said that there are 49,054,162 male registered voters and 44,414,846 female registered voters during a meeting with 18 political parties on Wednesday in Abuja.

Young people between the ages of 18 and 34 made up 37,060,399 (39.65%) of the total number of registered voters. In comparison, there were 17,700,270 old people (18.94%) of all registered voters, between the ages of 50 and 69.

He claims that all other arrangements, such as the issuing of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), are proceeding as planned.

The INEC chairman stated that 11 out of the 14 actions planned for the general elections in 2023 have been completed effectively with the presentation of voter registration.

He claimed that the INEC had no plans to delay the upcoming poll.
