The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, was planning to plant its members as ad-hoc staff in the ongoing governorship election in Imo State.
The party, in a statement posted on its official X handle on Saturday, alleged that a women leader of the APC was caught taking delivery of electoral materials in Owerri, the State capital.
The party declared it would not allow APC members to serve as Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC staff in the election.
The post reads, “APC Members Cannot Serve as @inecnigeria Ad-Hoc Staff. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has busted plans by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to plant its members as ad-hoc staff to conduct elections in Imo State.
“Of particular reference is the APC Woman Leader in Owerri Ward caught taking delivery of INEC materials.
“This is part of the rigging plots designed by the compromise Imo REC, Prof. Sylvia Agu. The people of Imo State know such APC members and will not accept them as INEC officers.
“INEC should immediately withdraw such APC members and re-profile their staff to avert the crisis”.
