I Will Run Peter Obi’s Model Of Governance In Abia State – Alex Otti

Alex Otti, the newly elected governor of Abia State, has stated that he will implement Peter Obi’s governance model in the state.

When asked if he would reduce the cost of governance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, he responded, “Absolutely, I have repeatedly spoken out about the cost of governance being a major problem in the country, and it applies to the federal government as well as state governments and all the way down to local governments.”

“I believe my presidential candidate [Peter Obi] did extremely well in Anambra because he reined down the cost of governance, and that is the paradigm that we will follow in Abia.”

“There are only so many jobs that the government can create.”

“When you are appointing 12,000 personal assistants and special assistants, who basically don’t have an office but collect money at the end of the month, you’re just creating a problem for yourself.”

“So, we’re going to run a very lean government, we’re going to cut our cloth to fit, and we believe that the private sector should be supported in order to create jobs.”

“We will do whatever it takes to support the private sector.”

“We are not going to run a phony government, we are not going to get ourselves involved in very expensive expense of travels.”
