Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, Honourable Uko Nkole will on Saturday chair the ceremonial opening of the ecclesiastical activities of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Umuahia Presbytery.

The event which will also witness fundraising of Presbytery office complex will feature award ceremony and holy communion.

The event will avail all the parishes of the Presbyterian Church in Umuahia to thank God for the outgone year and pave way for other activities as scheduled by the leadership of the church to take place.

Speaking with ABN TV on Wednesday, the Minister in charge of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Mission Hill Parish Umuahia and Secretary Planning Committee Umuahia Presbytery Ecclesiastical Fundraising Committee 2022, Rev. Ibe Uduma Obasi said the event which has as the theme, The Royal Priesthood seeks to celebrate God’s faithfulness.

The annual event will provide the opportunity for the church to pray for Nigeria, leadership of Abia State and its people.

He added, “It’s usually a very interesting moment when we celebrate victory over the year 2021 and what God has done for us in the year 2022. It promises to be mind blowing and enriching by God’s grace.”

At this year’s event, no fewer than 11 Presbyterians have been shortlisted to be honoured with award of recognition for their selfless services to the church as a way of appreciating them for supporting the growth and development of the church.

Rev. Obasi noted that the award is designed to encourage such members to continue with the good works they have been doing as well as to encourage others.

The event which will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 will hold as Saint Peters Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, No. 17 Abiriba Street Umuahia, Abia Stateat 11am.

The fundraising will help the church to erect an office complex in Umuagu, Umuahia from within and outside the church.
