Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, Hon. Obi Aguocha has graced the funeral ceremony of Elder Chief Lawrence Mgbeonyerem Onuigbo-Oriaku, brother of his predecessor in office, Hon. Sam Onuigbo.

A judge/member 2 Customary Court Ariam, Abia State Judicial Service Commission, Onuigbo-Oriaku who died at 73 was laid to rest in his hometown, Obuohia Obi-Ibere on Saturday.

Hon. Aguocha elected on the platform of the Labour Party commiserated with Onuigbo an APC chieftain and a Board Member of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) representing the South East.

In interaction with ABN TV, he described the death of the septuagenarian as a huge loss to the people of the constituency, urging the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late Elder Onuigbo-Oriaku led an impactful life.

He expressed appreciation to Hon. Onuigbo for his massive support which culminated into his victory during the 2023 election.

The lawmaker said humanity takes precedence over partisanship, saying that last respect to the departed has nothing to do with political party.

He also expressed optimism that in no distant time, the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu one of his constituents will regain freedom, describing him as a political prisoner.
