Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti has ordered the immediate suspension of the Head of Service of the state, Mr. Onyi Nwamah, ABN TV reports.

This according to the Governor follows the inauguration of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Properties and Funds belonging to Abia State Government.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko in a statement Thursday night made available to ABN TV, said the state’s chief executive also ordered the suspension of all Permanent Secretaries in the State civil service.

The Governor also approved the appointment of Lady Joy Maduka, Director, Ministry of Education, as Acting Head of Service (HOS).

Two Permanent Secretaries spared by the suspension include, John Pedro Iroakazi who is the Clerk of the House of Assembly and Mrs. U. G. Uche Ikonne who is the Solicitor General of the state.

“They are by this notice directed to hand over to the most senior Director in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies”, the statement added.
