Galatasaray has stepped up their efforts to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after he declined to sign with Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

The Turkish champions have submitted a formal contract proposal to Osimhen, who recently concluded his on loan at the Istanbul club from Napoli, according to reports from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Galatasaray are reportedly looking to secure a permanent deal for the 26-year-old as part of a bold summer rebuild aimed at boosting their attacking options.

Galatasaray have sent contract proposals to both Leroy Sané and Victor Osimhen,” Romano posted on X.

“Negotiations are ongoing while Sané’s case remains open and Osimhen has still not accepted the Al Hilal proposal.”

Italian outlet Sky Italia also reported that Osimhen recently turned down a second lucrative offer from Al Hilal, estimated at around £25m per year.

The Saudi side, now managed by former Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, have been aggressive in their attempt to sign the striker ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15. Their initial proposal, worth approximately £22m annually, had also been rejected.
